Three phases of quality control are used at Airmag Surveys, Inc., pre flight, in flight, and post flight.

During the pre flight phase of operation a determination is made as to the level of diurnal activity. A production flight would not be attempted during periods of active diurnal. The weather is assessed to determine if suitable flight conditions exist for a production flight.

During production, an experienced operator monitors the data quality. Parameters checked include quality of the Magnetometer signal, validity of the ancillary equipment, and accuracy of the DGPS navigation. The pilot in command uses DGPS navigation to maintain the pre planned flight path.

The post flight phase commences immediately upon landing. The first step is to verify the integrity of the ground data. Analysis of the diurnal activity during the flight is also made at this time. The airborne data is reviewed in both a hard copy and digital format.

The aircraft positions are plotted and the flight path is updated. The pilot in command uses this information to confirm the quality of the navigation and to preplan the next production flight. Copies of all digital data are made at this time as well.

Finally, all data is shipped to and inspected at our facilities in Philadelphia, PA. This occurs before the product is forwarded to the compilation unit.
